John Peel (Radio One) has played both Treat Yourself and Impressionist,
describing Treat Yourself as a "great record".
Ronan Munro (Nightshift, NME) - "Last year's debut 'Treat Yourself'
was a serious contender for single of the year, with its lachrymose vocals
clashing at odd angles with dark, sheet metal synthetics and all topped
off with deliciously deadpan lines like "The best things in life are half
price"... the Wife create stark, often bleak music that has more pop soul
than any number of dreary Lowgolds or Starsailors".
Mark Sutherland (Melody Maker) made Treat Yourself a Melody Maker 'Soundtrack
of the Week' on 11 October 2000.
